TALENTED Pupils scooped spectacular prizes at a special assembly attended by Nottingham East MP Chris Leslie on Friday.
The competition to design a Christmas card was entered by schools across the MP’s constituency, with the overall winner coming from Seely Primary School, Sherwood.
Nine-year-old Andrew Arkle, from Class 3/4F won the competition with his design of a fireplace hung with stockings, a Dalmation dog and a cat.
His prize was a Kindle Fire, donated by Experian.
Slightly overwhelmed by all the fuss, young artist Andrew said: “I suppose this means I do not have to use the iPad as much now.”
His proud mum Anne added: “I’m absolutely delighted. He’s really put a lot of effort into.”
MP Chris Leslie said he had been “bowled over” by the quality of the entries and That all the winners could be viewed on a digital display at the Nottingham Contemporary gallery.
Headteacher Sally Newton said: “We are incredibly proud of all our children.”
