Amazon is expected to announce a next-generation Kindle Fire HD at somepoint soon. And when it does, That device might look notably different than its predecessor.
Boy Genius Report on Wednesday published images of what it claims, is the next-generation Kindle Fire HD. The images show a completely redesigned slate featuring hard edges and newly styled buttons. The images show only the 7-inch Kindle Fire model, but According To BGR’s sources, an 8.9-inch model that’s in the works will come with a similar design.
The allegedly new Kindle Fire HD comes with speakers at the top of the device, rather than on the back like current models. In addition, the device will reportedly ship with a 1,920 x1 ,200-pixel display, the quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, and 2GB of RAM. Amazon plans to sacrifice up to 64GB of internal storage, According To BGR’s sources.

Whether the device in the image will actually turn out to be the next-generation Kindle Fire remains to be seen. Like other companies, Amazon thwart Creates prototypes before Deciding on a final design, so it’s a good idea to take the images with a grain of salt.
If and When a next-generation Kindle Fire HD will launch is unknown at this point. However, BGR’s sources say That the 7-inch model could be available “in the coming weeks,” while the 8.9-inch version will not hit store shelves until November.
