Online campaign would kindle acts of kindness for World Kindness Day – Sun Sentinel

A social media movement Friday AIMS to inspire Thousands of People to perform random acts of kindness – and it all started in South Florida.

In honor of World Kindness Day Boca Raton resident and nonprofit founder Alexa Carlin is asking users of the live streaming app Periscope to share a video of themeselves Helping others and then challenge three others to do the same.

“I think it’s going to show people how one small act can really make a huge difference in someone’s life, “said 24-year-old Carlin, Whose nonprofit, Hello Perfect, HELPS teens boost theirself esteem.

The campaign is launching with about 70 “influencers” across the globe who have a combined FollowingHistory of more than 1 million people on Their Periscope accounts. They’ll stream Their videos using the hashtag WorldKindnessDay.

Carlin believes the effort will lead to at least 5,000 random acts of kindness. She plans to perform Such acts as handing out care packages and distributing cards with inspirational messages. All of it will be shown live on her Periscope account,AlexaRoseCarlin.

The videos willalso be viewable online at periscope.tv/alexarosecarlin.

Carlin HAS high hopes for the day .

“I can not even imagine how much of a difference we’re going to make in real peoples’ lives all over the world,” she said.
