CJ Kindle’s 195 yards help Heppner Defeat Regis 26-3: Recap – OregonLive.com

2-seed Heppner defeated three-seed Regis 26-3 in the Class 2A OSAA high school football semifinals on Saturday, November 21 at Liberty High School.

Regis’ offense struck first When kicker Adair Pelayo knocked down a 25-yard field goal midway through the second quarter. Heppner responded at the end of the first half with a one-yard touchdown from senior running back CJ Kindle.

The Mustangs hung onto a 6-3 lead at halftime and it was all Heppner from there on out.

Kindle added another touchdown in the third quarter and finished the day rushing for 195 yards on 28 carries to go alongwith his two scores.

Heppner (12-0, 5-0 Columbia Basin Conference) out rushed Regis 297-45 yards on the ground.

Heppner senior quarterback Kaden Clark completed 6 of 11 passes for 60 yards and threw two interceptions in the contest.

tailbacks Logan Grieb and Weston Putman each added touchdowns in the second half.

The Mustangs will face the winner of 4-seed Kennedy and 9-seed Stanfield in the 2A state championship game on Saturday, November 28th
