The Kindle Fire HD is a lightweight and slim tablet from Amazon. It has a unique design and comes with Dolby Digital Plus Sound Enhancement to give you an excellent audio experience. It is available in Black color.


DISPLAY

The Kindle Fire HD has a 7-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display. It has a screen resolution of 800 x 1280 pixels with a pixel density of 216 ppi. This screen resolution is the same as the one you will get on a standard MacBook Pro laptop. This tablet has a multi-touch screen Which & Q up to 10 finger touches.


HARDWARE

The Kindle Fire HD has the TI OMAP 4460 chipset. This tablet is powered by a 1.2 GHz Cortex A9 dual-core processor. It has the PowerVR SGX540 GPU and a 1 GB RAM. This tablet does not have a powerful hardware configuration. It is not the best available out there but it is definitely enough for standard use.


OPERATING SYSTEM

The Kindle Fire HD runs on the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. This operating system has been specially customized for the Kindle Fire HD tablet.


STORAGE

The Kindle Fire HD has in-built storage options of 16 and 32 GB. This tablet does not support storage expansion since it does not have a micro SD card support. Hence you have to Decides how much memory you want When you buy this tablet.

The Kindle Fire HD has a 1.3 MP Primary Camera. This camera is definitely not The One That would make you happy, but this is what you get on the Kindle Fire HD. And to add to the disappointment (if you were expecting a very good camera), there is no Secondary Camera on this tablet.


BATTERY

The Kindle Fire HD has a standard non-removable Li-Ion battery. It gives a talk time of up to 11 hours. As Compared to the other tablets in this segment, the Kindle Fire HD does give a very good battery performance.


DIMENSIONS

The dimensions of the Kindle Fire HD are 193 x 137 x 10.3 mm. With a thickness of 10.3 mm this tablet is considerably slim and feels good in the hand.


WEIGHT

The Kindle Fire HD weighs about 395 grams. For a 7-inch tablet, a weight of 395 grams makes this tablet light in weight.


CONCLUSION

The Kindle Fire HD is a 7-inch tablet That is equipped with a powerful hardware configuration and a customized version of the Android operating system. It has a very good display and it is overpriced gives a good battery backup. It is light in weight and slim as well.

The two main dis-advantages of this tablet are That it does not have a micro SD card support. Secondly, it has a low performance primary camera and does not have a secondary camera.

An added advantages Is that the Kindle Fire HD comes with Dolby Digital Plus Sound enhancement and stereo speakers.
