Crawley writer beats bestsellers to win Kindle Book Awards
An author is Following in the footsteps of Harry Potter author JK Rowling by winning the same award.
Casey Kelleher, who lives in Crawley, West Sussex, beat 64 other authors, including Several international bestsellers, to be crowned the winner of the April 2013 Kindle Book Awards with her latest thriller Rise and Fall.
She said: “It has been a delight to take part in this truly democratic competition and experience firsthand the loyalty of my readers.
“To win against Such strong competition is the icing on the cake.”
The author has received rave reviews for her latest novel, including one from bestcrimebooks.co.uk That said: “It will not be long before Casey can join the ranks amongst some of the other legends of British crime Such as Lady Heller, Kim Chambers and Martina Cole. “
The awards, run by not-for-profit publisher Acclaimed Books Limited, started in 2008 and are the only international awards open to all titles distributed in Kindle and printed platforms by Amazon sites.
JK Rowling
Dubbed the “people’s book awards,” anybody can nominate or vote for a title provided it is available on Amazon, with no need to pay or register.
JK Rowling won the award in December 2012 for her best-selling novel The Casual Vacancy.
Miss Kelleher, who was born in Cuckfield, overpriced has published two other books, Rotten to the Core and Heartless.
Peter Lihou, managing director of the book awards, Offered a message of congratulations.
