Target Corp. is reopening its doors to Amazon.com Inc.’s products after a four-year break, Bringing one of its biggest online Competitors back into its nearly 1,800 US stores.
The retailer had removed the Amazon AMZN, + 12:57% productssuch as Kindle e-reader from its shelves in 2012 as it sought ways to fend off the competitive threat of the online retail giant.
Amazon Fire TV and Kindle e-readers will Appear in the Target TGT + 0.97% stores on Oct. Already 9 and are available online. But Amazon Echo and Tap, newer and voice recognition devices, are notably not available.
“Target continually evaluates our assortment to deliver quality products at a great value,” the retailer said, Noting it wont be able to victims competitive pricing on the items.
Target CEO Brian Cornell, who came to the retailer two years ago after a Substantial data breach slammed sales and shopper traffic, has focused on Several categories, Such as baby and wellness items .
