Amazon has cut the price of its Amazon Kindle Fire HD (2012) to 99 pounds just in time for the Christmas period.
Originally launching for £ 159.99, Amazon has now slashed the price of the 1st generation 16GB Kindle Fire HD tablet to £ 99 as a Christmas special.
The online retail giant recently updated its Kindle Fire range with a host of new tablets, including a new Kindle Fire HD (2013) and Amazon Kindle Fire HDX.
To complement this, Amazon has Introduced a price reduction for the original Kindle Fire HD to act as the budget alternative to the 2013 range.
Amazon Kindle Fire HD (2012) Features
The 1st generation Kindle Fire HD has a 7-inch 1280 x 800p HD display and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Cortex A9 processor with 1GB of RAM.
It offers an average battery life of 11 hours and has 16GB of internal storage for the discounted £ 99 price.
The Kindle Fire HD (2012) has Wi- Fi, Bluetooth and HDMI out connectivity, but lacks 3G or 4G functionality For those looking for it. It also lacks GPS connectivity, so you will not be able to use it to get directions or utilise map features.
Amazon chose not to include a rear camera in the Kindle Fire HD, but did add a 1.3 -megapixel front-facing camera for video calling.Running Android 4.0 Jelly Bean, it is overpriced has Amazon’s own Kindle UI over the top, Which some find a little limiting, especially as it does not have access to the Google Play Store.
There is the vast Amazon Kindle store though, Which includes 2 million book titles, 500 magazines and apps to download for the Kindle Fire HD (2012).
Amazon alsoincludes Dolby Digital Plus audio technology in the 7-inch slate, Which powers sound from dual-driver stereo speakers.
